Join Us for Advent

title

You are invited to worship with us during the Advent and Christmas season. Advent is a four week season in which the church remembers the first coming of Jesus of Nazareth to our world and prepares for his coming again to heal the world.  Christmas is a twelve day celebration of the incarnate God who became one of us for our salvation. During the four Sundays of Advent, we invite you to donate books, clothes, and food that will be redistributed to those in need.

So what do we do during Advent? We wait and prepare ourselves. We commit ourselves to spiritual renewal through weekly worship and daily prayer as the means of God’s grace.  We fast by giving up something we enjoy on a regular basis to deepen our hunger and desire for God.  We give alms for those in need. We tell others about the joy and hope of Jesus’ return to be king and put the world to rights.
